International treaty on domestic workers’ rights to come into force next year

The ITUC has welcomed the imminent return to Burma of the leader of the country’s trade union movement, Maung Maung, following a decision by the government to remove some 2,000 people from a black-list of over 6,000 banned from entering the country.

New report: Child labour in Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea (PNG) ratified the ILO’s Minimum Age Convention and the Worst forms of Child Labour Convention in 2000. PNG legislation covers the minimum age and prohibits hazardous work.
